Why it is prescribed (Indications) :
This medication is a non-sedating antihistamine, prescribed for allergic conditions. It blocks histamine action, which reduces allergy symptoms.
Category B : Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.
Dosage & When it is to be taken :
Adult: PO- The recommended dose is 10-20 mg once daily.
How it should be taken :
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.
Warnings and Precautions :
* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver and kidney impairment, QT interval prolongation, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side Effects :
Headache, dry mouth, drowsiness, inflammation of pharynx/nose/sinus, abdominal pain, indigestion, weakness, nosebleed, nausea and sleeplessness.
Other Precautions :
*Avoid excess dosage.

Oral: Store it at controlled room temperature (25°C).
