Why it is prescribed (Indications) :
This medication is a vasodilator, prescribed for long term memory disorders and lack of concentration.
Contraindicated in patients with severe bleeding, recent heart attack, stroke, during pregnancy and known hypersensitivity.
Category D : There is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience or studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Dosage & When it is to be taken :
Adult- PO- The recommended dose is 3 g/day.
How it should be taken :
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, immediately after meals with liquid.
Warnings and Precautions :
* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of low blood pressure, narrowing of mitral valve, any allergy, and who are taking other medications.
Side Effects :
Flushing, generalized itching, rash, abdominal pain, low blood sugar and low blood pressure.
Other Precautions :
* Avoid excess dosage.
